Yves Mélisse’s aviation experience started in 1987 at UTA, the French airlines, as an
engineer responsible for landing gears and wheels & brakes for the former KSSU group
(KLM, Swissair, SAS, and UTA). In 1992, he joined UTA’s engineering team and
participated in the launch of the newly ordered A340 for Air France, following the
merger of the two companies.
In 1995, he moved to REVIMA as Sales Manager where he developed the landing gear
and APU overhaul activities. In 1997, he was then appointed as Sales Manager Europe &
North America by EADS SOGERMA, following the sale of REVIMA, previously owned by
Air France, to EADS SOGERMA.
In 2000, Air France welcomed him back on board, where he joined the Sales Directorate
as General Sales Manager Europe. In September 2002, Yves Mélisse was promoted as
Vice President Sales – Europe & North America for Air France Industries.
Yves Mélisse holds a technical engineering degree and is a graduate of INSEAD. He is 40,
and is married with one child.
One month after the adoption of a single international brand for its civil and
military aviation maintenance activities, Sabena technics appoints Yves Mélisse
as Executive Vice President sales and marketing. He is in charge of the Group’s
sales & marketing activities worldwide.
A subsidiary of the TAT Group created in 1969, Sabena technics is a leading European
independent player in the aircraft maintenance market. It offers maintenance, repair and
overhaul (MRO) services to regional airlines, mainline carriers operating medium and longrange
aircraft and the military sector. Sabena technics currently employs 2,400 persons across
its 12 worldwide locations.
